A Hunting We Will Go

Although this post is a few weeks overdue, I feel obliged to document our yearly homage to the "forest" to pick out the Weer Family tree. While Jeff and I much prefer tromping out in the woods for hours on end, we have both made our peace with a 10 acre U-cut farm until the girls are past the days of Baby Back Packs and Bottles.

Following in the footsteps of her mother, Camdyn wanted the biggest, fattest tree she could lay eyes on, immediately pointing out a Noble at least 15 feet in height and width. After much convincing we settled on a beautiful fur, just shy of our ten foot ceiling, and by far the heaviest one on the entire farm! Gorgeous when lit and decorated, Weer Tree 2010 definitely sets the bar high for all trees to come!

Winter Wonderland.....

The usual holiday chaos has been in full effect in the Weer House, from traveling and colds to snowfall and crazy schedules we seem to have been doing everything BUT blogging! As work slows down for a week or two, I promise to get some past photos uploaded, but for now I hope our snow bundled babes will give you something to smile about!

Up, Up and ......Not Quite Away

Although walking is hopefully still a month or two away, little Miss Lilly has been quietly mastering the art of pulling herself up and cruising around on her own. From toy boxes to toilets, anything that provides a handhold seems to be fair game, and standing like a "Big Girl" definitely has a way of bringing a smile to everyone's face!

The Short End of the Stick...........

When the idea of a boys weekend in Kansas City was presented, I originally told Jeff we would talk about it. When we found out it included tickets to a Kansas City Chief's game, I started thinking this could be a great birthday present. When we found out the accommodations would be at an NFL player's house and the tickets would be in the family section, I saw the opportunity to be the coolest wife in the world.....so naturally, we bid Dad ado on Thursday Night and headed into the Halloween weekend a house full of women!

We are happy to report that the weekend was a HUGE success for all. Dad had the time of his life rubbing elbows with a group of professional athletes and Mom couldn't have asked for a cuter, happier pair of Trick-or-Treating sisters! About half-way through our night I received the following text from Jeff:

"Eating Wings with a bunch of KC chiefs!"

My response?!?!?!

"Eating candy with a zebra and a cow!'

In my opinion, I definitely got the better end of the weekend deal!

.75

Just a few facts and figures for one of our favorite little ladies at 3/4 of a year!

Stats:

Weight: 15 lbs, 2 ounces (0-5th percentile)
Height: 27.5 inches (25th percentile)
Head: 17 inches (25th percentile)

Is currently: Waving, clapping, crawling, ridiculously hard to keep away from the dog food, starting to pull up to standing, eating everything in sight, loving each and every item that has passed her lips, "talking" up a storm, and getting more of a personality each day.

Lover of: strawberries, sneaking small bites of ice cream, balls, being tickled, jumping, peek-a-boo, chasing her big sister, splashing in the bathtub, putting things in her mouth and waking up with Daddy.

Not so fond of: falling asleep alone, being hungry, not being able to keep up with her sister, and being pulled out of Barley's water dish!

Thanks Gamma.........

Your jelly is the bestest!

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream

Fall Excursion

In the dead of winter, when leaving the County isn't so much an option, Jeff and I are always kicking ourselves for not getting out while we had the chance....hence the acceptance of an invitation from the Lyman Family to head to Walla Walla for a quick weekend rendezvous. A little bit of Pumpkin Patching here, a bit of corn mazing there, and a whole lot of insanity and chaos, reaffirmed my belief that being a home body isn't always a bad thing!

Good Morning Beautiful

Anyone who has had the opportunity to live with me, knows that morning is my time to shine! I am the first to admit that my energy and enthusiasm before 7:00 am can be a bit extreme, perhaps even bordering upon annoying. I will, however, defend my demeanor as the more pleasant of two options. Put kindly, my wonderful husband, struggles to meet the morning. While he has improved immensely since our marriage, one is still taking a bit of a risk entering the bedroom before he deems it "time to rise and shine." I have learned that young children or Barley seem to receive the warmest welcome and commonly use them to complete my dirty work.

At our house, we have quickly learned that the apples don't seem to fall far from the trees. Waking up with Lilly has to be one of life's most wonderful simply pleasures. As her sleepy eyes open and begin taking in her surroundings she immediately smiles and then begins laughing at the first person she sees. She them proceeds to happily coo the morning away, sitting lovingly through the first cup of coffee, just glad to around for a new day...........then, there is Camdyn. I am beginning to believe morning moodiness increases with each generation. The disgruntled cries usually begin prior to six am and continue until you are met in her bedroom with a scowl. Thus begins the 15-30 minutes of "waking up" required to get Camdyn ready to even think about beginning the day.....from not putting enough milk in her mini wheats to turning on the wrong cartoon, it is hard not to walk on egg shells around our little time bomb.............

A Dad and His Girl

I think it is often hard for Dad's to bond with infants. Of course they are excited when they arrive, spend hours napping with them on their chests, and love them simply because they are a little piece of them. However, in the daily grind of feeding, changing, napping and crying, it can definitely be hard to form the attachments that come from playing with older siblings!

While I have obviously enjoyed Lilly become much more interactive these last few months, it has absolutely melted my heart to see her bonding with her Daddy. I have a feeling it won't be long before these two will be pretty hard to part!

A Crabbin' We Will Go.........

Ever since us girls made a trip to the beach last spring, Dad has been wishing he could see Camdyn in action at the coast. So when the opportunity to head West for the weekend presented itself, we called some of our bestest friends and cruised on down to their amazing beach house to soak up the sun, surf, sand and seafood. It was absolutely amazing to get away as a family for a few days and we couldn't have asked for better weather or company. Thank you Johnsons for a fabulous weekend!

Bowling is Me Favorite

When we found out we were pregnant with Camdyn, Jeff and I dreamed of parenting the next Mia Hamm. If soccer wasn't her thing, maybe basketball or track. I can honestly tell you, a bowling superstar NEVER crossed our mind. However, after a recent trip to the local lanes, Camdyn proclaimed bowling as her favorite sport ever! In fact, "me love it so, so, so, so, so much Mommy!" You better believe we are hoping this is just another weird toddler phase.

Through the Years............

Just before the birth of his new baby sister, we helped Jonah celebrate his THIRD birthday! If these two ever got married, I know a couple of moms who could put together one heck of a pre-wedding slide show!

We're BACK!!!!!!!

Even before I turned the August calendar over to September, I knew it was going to be a busy nightmare! The start of school, 2 work trips and several doctor trips for Lilly were pushing the planner to capacity. Add an 18 day fire trip to Southern Oregon for dad and you are just scraping the tip of the "excuse for not blogging" ice burg. However, we are happy to report the return of the Weers to cyberspace...let the blogging party begin!

Feels Like Fall......

Nothing inspires a day of cutting firewood like the temperature dipping below 32 degrees. As Fall begins to make her presence known, the Weers and Lymans were called to the woods with chainsaws, brats, firewood permits, and of course, the potty chair in hand to prepare for the long winter! Dad loved feeling extra manly splitting wood, Camdyn loved using the "real" chain saw, Mom loved the time outdoors and Lilly, as usual, loved just about everything!

How did this Happen?!?!

Just looked at some photos a friend of mine took of Camdyn........when did my baby become such a little person?!?!

No Shirt, No Shoes......No Problem

Today Camdyn claimed, "Momma me go swing just a little bit naked." Busily folding clothes, I simply gave the okay without even turning my head...and was a bit surprised when Lilly and I joined her a few minutes later! Apparently, the best thing about having your own "park" at home......clothing is absolutely optional!

Second Child Syndrome

Although I knew life with two would be busy, being a second child myself, I had promised due diligence in keeping up with the ins and outs of little Miss Lilly. Despite my greatest effort, we seem to have been hurdling obstacle after obstacle this summer and both milestone photo shoots and blogging have been forced to take a back seat. In the meantime, our "little bean" has been quietly mastering the fine arts of sitting, crawling, peek-a-booing and stealing the hearts of just about everyone in the Weer house! We love you Lilly.....your happiness is truly a blessing beyond measure!

You Ever Wonder Why........

Nelly the Rapper never tried pulling off the Dora band aids?!?!?!?!?! Perhaps the career would have lasted a bit longer!
