Blessed

I know I should be catching up on life while me family snoozes, but I just can't help but stare and wonder "How did I get so blessed?"

Let the Traditions Begin

After a Pennsylvania Thanksgiving, and with a post-holiday trip to Portland planned, Jeff and I decided that we were going to spend our first Christmas morning with our new little family in our new little house! While we both missed having our parents around, we had a great time with Camdyn and Barley and were able to start a few family traditions of our own.....

Although Camdyn loved opening her gifts, eating french toast and staring at the tree, her favorite part of the day had to be her very first ride in a sled! Our friends John and Amy were kind enough to lend us their beautiful, hand-made, wooden sled and it was a perfect fit! I see lots of sledding and lots of family Christmases in our future!

Busted!!!!

While her dad and I prefer the living room or kitchen, it is very apparent that the Bathroom is where Camdyn would love to spend the large majority of her time. Several attempts at toilet diving, quickly led us to putting the lid down, but the biggest draw is obviously the bathtub.
Not only does our little lady relish every second she spends in the tub, she just can't seem to get her fill of tub time. Regardless of where she may be, or what she may be doing, the second she hears the water running, she is off! Lately however, the water doesn't even need to be on and she is trying to crawl into the bathtub to play. Scared she will harm herself doing a porcelain nose-dive, we have tried to be cognizant of shutting the bathroom door, but sometimes, she slips through our fingers........this time however she was busted before she got too far!

If You Got 'em......Why Not Flaunt Them.......

In previous photos you may have caught a glimpse of our beautiful, extraordinarily sharp, two front teeth.....but you have yet to see them in action! Unfortunately, the lack of light in our dining room leads to fuzzy pictures, but I think you'll get the idea of just how much we love our teeth.....and our food!

Just One of Those Lazy Weekends.........

Unfortunately, the lazy weekend is a rarity in the Weer House. However, with the snow piling up and the thermometer struggling to reach double digits, we had the perfect excuses to just hang out and catch up on some household chores. The only thing Camdyn seems to love more than laundry is any type of floor cleaning apparatus. From brooms, to dust mops, to the Swiffer, she is forever chasing Mom in my battle to keep up after a forever shedding yellow lab (aren't they supposed to hold onto hair when it is cold?).

This weekend we decided to literally take the broom into our own hands.........we also decided to finally fit into a cute outfit Grandma bought us at the Earth Friendly trade show back in April. If you notice what appears to be a black-eye in on picture......don't worry....we just got into a little fight with our rocker from Great-Grandma. If you think Camdyn looks bad, you should see the chair! 8)

The Santa Series

It all started so innocent, just hanging out with my Dad and some big guy in a red suit...........

Suddenly, a closer look..............WHO is this guy?!?!

The verdict?!?!? We don't so much like Santa Claus this year!

Not Quite the Perfect Outing, or the Perfect Pictures

Does anything sound more Holiday friendly or nostalgic than a Santa Train?!?! A sixty minute excursion on a scenic railway, complete with Santa, Elves, Candy Canes and Hot Chocolate! Surely this would make for the perfect Sunday afternoon!

Snow, a high of 6 degrees, at least 100 crying children, a crazy yelling, bell-ringing Santa and NO Cocoa later....we had our doubts! Not only were Camdyn, Mali and all the parents going crazy, the camera didn't even seem to be focusing right! Don't know if I will ever be lured into this holiday "tradition" again!

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall...........

My First "Taste" of Christmas!!!!

Welcome to the Family

It isn't too often that one is lucky enough to get a brand new 2 1/2 year old cousin! However, Ms. Camdyn was super fortunate this weekend when she got to meet Malachi, the newest member of the family! After three long years of waiting, Uncle Ian, Aunt Heidi and Ashley finally found the perfect little kiddo to adopt!!!!! It has definitely been a long time coming, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate! Be ready to see LOTS of these crazy cousins in action............

If I was Just and Inch or Two Taller!!!!

Although at 28" we measure in around the 50Th percentile in height for a 9-month old, Camdyn needed just an inch or two more to reach those shiny, sparkling ornaments and help decorate the tree! I'm thinking next year we are in for a world of trouble........

The Fascination Continues

Camdyn was less than three months old when I first discovered her obsession with laundry. Lying in a pile of warm clothes, fresh from the dryer, was often the only way to calm our fussy baby. However, as we have aged and become much less fussy, the fascination with laundry seems to continue. Over the weekend, Jeff was busy in the laundry room when he called for the camera......seems we have quite the little housekeeper on our hands!

A Little Cousin Love......

Although Camdyn loved meeting all of her first and second cousins, some took to her a bit better than the others! In particular, little Ethan seemed to LOVE Camdyn (though I hear he loves all the women)! When we finally got him to stop the hugs and kisses, we were actually able to get a picture of our little love birds! I am sure they will hate these pictures when they are older, but why not get a jump start on being that embarrassing mom now!

The Seven Dwarfs....I Mean...Great Grandchildren!

Jeff's Grandma and Grandpa may have thought they had their hands full with eight grandchildren.... I can't imagine how excited they are with 7 GREAT Grandchildren! All of the kiddos, minus cousin Dawson, were able to get together over the Thanksgiving Holiday and believe it or not, they were even coaxed into a picture or two! We love you Great Grandpa and Grandma!!!!!!

My First Taste of Christmas!

While a large majority of the Weer Family was in Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving, we decided this was the perfect time to get together for the annual Family Christmas at Uncle Jerry and Aunt Sue's. Not only did this give Camdyn a chance to meet a whole lot of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, but it also provided her with her first taste at unwrapping Christmas gifts! Although mom had to do most of the unwrapping, while Dad worked the camera, Camdyn actually seemed genuinely interested in each of her gifts! She especially liked her first set of baby dolls from Great Grandma and Grandpa.....in fact, I am pretty convinced she thinks they are real...or at least really good at playing Peek-a-Boo! Thanks you everyone for a great start to our first holiday together! Sorry about the pacifier......family Christmas was running a little late for the baby!

Lovin' Great Grandma and Grandpa

With 2 sets of Grandparents and 3 sets of Great-Grandparents, we know that Camdyn is a pretty lucky little girl. During our trip to Pennsylvania she got to meet her last set of Great-Grandparents, and believe me, I think for both parties involved it was love at first sight! Between her new rocking chair made by Great-Grandma and her fascination with Great-Grandpa's overalls, it was obvious that she couldn't be more proud to be a Weer!

The World Traveler Finally Returns!!!!

Okay, so maybe not world traveler, but Pennsylvania isn't exactly close! We just got back from spending the holidays with Jeff's family and have TONS of stories to tell and pictures to post. Unfortunately, a week out of the office also means a ton of work to do! So, we will be getting caught up over the next several days...until then, thought you'd like to see our little traveler flying the blue skies! She was a perfect angel on all four flights...and unlike her momma, seemed to love every minute of it!
