One Happy Camper!

Although we didn't feel quite ready to officially "camp" overnight, Camdyn spent both Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day weekend in the great outdoors searching for the amazingly yummy morel mushroom! We are happy to report that the usually elusive species seemed to be everywhere, allowing us to return home each evening with several pounds! While we tried to teach Camdyn to say "uh oh" each time she spotted the desired fungi, she spent most of her day laughing at Barley's outdoor enthusiasm, playing with pine cones and counting down the seconds until her favorite part of the day, our picnic lunch! Being the helper that she is, she was happy to dig into the cooler and give each of us our lunch, not to mention sample a little of each item along the way!

Uh Oh..........

Someone has started talking! It is so cute to watch her as she tries to shape her little mouth to form words. Although we are slightly limited in our vocabulary, the best by far is her "uh oh" which is whispered, screamed or giggled a minimum of fifty time each day. No matter the situation that calls us to voice our favorite phrase, the puckered mouth we use to say "oh" is sure to be found! This morning we got caught stealing mom's breakfast red-handed and an uh-oh was definitely in order........

Just Too Pretty to Blog

With the mercury nearing the mid-eighties the past few days, I just haven't had the motivation to do a lot of blogging. We have spent the large majority of our days working as a family to build and plant the garden and have begun the undertaking of a MASSIVE yard remodel.

Desptie the projects, we did get out on Sunday to search for some Morel Mushrooms and grill a few hotdogs over a campfire. As Camdyn and I were exploring the fields, a friend got a few great shots of the amazing sunset in the sky above.....if you click and look super hard, you can see our outlines in the bottom right corner!

Doggie Dash 2009!

Despite our move from Portland, we just weren't willing to let go of our Oregon Humane Society Doggie Dash tradition. Camdyn, Mom and Barley joined Beth, Addison, Azla, Jack, Kona and Bernard, not to mention, thousands of strangers to celebrate our favorite four-legged friends, all while raising money for a great cause! Camdyn eagerly pointed and said "og, og" at the first 20 or so pooches that she spotted, but apparently threw in the towel and and decided to just sit back and enjoy the 6,000 or so canines running and walking the course. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it), her stroller put her at just the right height for tons of sloppy kisses! Can't wait until 2010!

Rock-A-Bye Baby

Move over puppet stage.....since our new schedule apparently involves waking up at 5:12 each morning, the baby hammock has easily replaced the puppet stage as Camdyn's favorite school item. Although I wish I was able to take advantage of brief morning snoozing, I am grateful she is feeling comfortable enough to nod off and catch up on some much needed sleep!
