Super Busy...Super Hot Weekend
Thought those Weer Family Fans may be interested in how we spend our weekends when it is 97 degrees in Portland. Although Camdyn usually is happiest when outside, Mom and Dad learned very quickly that she is not ready to hit the great outdoors at such extreme temperatures for long! Regardless we had a great weekend playing with our favorite rings, smiling at Dad, heading out to the Ranch to teach Barley how to fetch a decoy and doing a photo shoot for Great Grandpa's Birthday....oh, and of course, Dad continued to find time to sneak in a little nap with his baby girl!

How Big is Camdyn.......SO Big!!!!!
It's funny how many experiences take on a whole new meaning when you have a child. Not once can I remember a time when I was actually excited for a Doctor's appointment until I was pregnant with Camdyn. I thought for sure, that once she was born this sudden passion for noisy waiting rooms and paper gowns would fade, but now I find myself anxiously anticipating each of her well child visits.....the passion stronger than ever before.
So one can only imagine the devestation I felt when after we were all dressed and ready to go, the Doctor's office called to cancel her appointment Monday morning. I was able to momentarily shake my disappoinment to jump on the first available opening only two short days later. Not sure of how I would swing finding a sub and leaving work, I am forever indebted to my fabulous co-workers who pitched in and covered when they heard the obvious desparation in my voice as I made the request....but I many have cut my window of time a little too tight.
After speeding (and swearning) faster than ever before to arrive on time, I seriously sprinted through the parking lot and used the railing to propel myself up the stairs to the Pediatrician's office at record speeds! The receptionist was barely able to understand my panting and led me to the room where Dad, Baby Camdyn and Doctor were already midway through the visit.....so, here is the scoop, and some two month visit pictures! And I swear, the doctor said she was beautiful and perfect a minimum of 7 times!
Camdyn Jane Weer Statistics
** Height: 23 3/4" (90th percentile)....Don't ask how this happened! 8)
** Weight: 10 lbs 4 oz (25th percentile)
** Head Circumference 38.7 cm (55 percentile)

Diggin' the Doggie Dash!
While we obviously know the exact origins of little Baby Camdyn, the lineage of our original yellow-haired child is slightly more questionable! The one thing we do know, is that we are extremely grateful to the Asheville Humane Society for saving and housing Barley until Jeff could arrive for an adoption nearly 6 years ago.
In honor of Barley, and Mom's request for some "together" time this Mother's Day, the whole family rose bright and early Saturday morning to participate in a 2-mile Doggie Dash benefiting the Oregon Humane Society....and man, did we see some Dogs Dashing.....not to mention a lot of territory marking and bottom sniffing!
Although we definitely didn't work up a sweat meandering through the streets of Portland with 3,000 other dog-loving families and their 4-legged "kids," we enjoyed the time together and loved being able to support a fantastic cause!

All Grownsed Up!!!!!
I always heard it happens so fast. That despite the 12-15 incredibly disgusting diaper changes a day, the 8-10 feedings that seem to dominate your schedule and the permanent headache induced by the total lack of sleep, you really need to enjoy those first few weeks with your baby, because they literally grow before your very eyes.
As I was uploading photos at Target to print off for Mother’s Day cards, I literally lost it. Perhaps it was the stress of going back to work, the financial burden of double mortgages while we wait to sell our townhouse, or the fact that Camdyn and I have missed her dad so much in the past 10 days we are literally counting the minutes until his arrival home. But, whatever the added stress was that led to my public meltdown, at the heart of the tears was the realization that instead of a sharing my life with a precious little infant, I suddenly have a little lady on my hands…….and I also have the pictures to prove just how much she’s grown!
