Excuses, Excuses, Excuses

Lately I find myself in a continual state of frustration with Camdyn's wide array of excuses when it comes to going to bed. After she has run through every toddler cliche "I want a drink," "I need to go to the potty" and "I'm scared of the dark," she gets quite creative. Thus far my favorite have to be "the hair stuck to me tongue" and not being able to find her comforter (she hid it under her pillow).

However, despite the annoyance of her excuses, I keep making my own to keep from blogging. While I feel mine are much more legitimate, in the big picture of life, aren't they really all the same thing?!?!? So, before I post our LONG overdue Christmas photos, vacation snap shots and first birthday memories, I will share the top three reasons (i.e. excuses) that I have been unable to find the time or energy to update you all on the ins-and-outs of our Weer Family life......

1. "Mama!!!!!!!!!! Lilly pooping in the tub!!!!!"

2. "Jeff, I think Barley just peed all over our bed" Don't worry....I thought right

and

3. The on-going attempts to catch the elusive "slug sisters" before their never ending runny noses leave yet another slime trail all over our beautiful red couch......

But without further excuses or ado...........let the posting begin!

Merry Christmas 2010

We had the most wonderful quiet Christmas at home in Enterprise just being a family of four.....and Barley of course. From making our traditional (well, a two year tradition) huckleberry pancakes to baking our first cookies for Santa, it was definitely a year to remember and a time to feel blessed!

California Dreaming

As if the excitement of the holidays wasn't enough, the Weer Clan was lucky enough to hop on a jet plane and head to the Bay Area to celebrate the New Year! And if playing for hours a day with cousin Dawson wasn't enough, Aunt Claire and Uncle Alan helped us travel around like true tourists, hitting up the highlights of San Francisco and the Jelly Belly factory! We can't wait for our next trip!

Birthday Celebration

The official ups-and-downs of Little Lilly will come after her Well-Baby visit tomorrow, but the first birthday celebration was in full effect over the weekend with a fun dinner for family and friends!

Slip, Sledding Away

Just before the holiday craziness began, the cousins came by donning sleds to join us for a quick hike to the highest hill in the neighborhood. It seems that neither dark, nor below freezing temperatures could stop this family of snow bunnies as they took turns loading up and flying down one very large hill! Not only did this Momma cringe to see her toddler flying by at mock 1, but she was also VERY thankful for one fearless, fun loving daddy who helped her stay behind the camera and off the slopes!
