Love, Hope and Peace

For the second holiday in a row, the Weers were thrilled to be a part of the Advent Season at our church.  While last year Mom had to fly solo while Dad was whisked away on an ambulance call, this year the whole family was dressed and ready to light away.

And the Winner is..................

While she may have been the only 3 year old entered, we were still pretty proud of our 2013 Holiday Coloring Contest Winner!  Congratulations Lilly Grace!

O' Christmas Tree 2013

Even the bone-chilling cold could not stop the Weers from heading out to cut down our family tree.  With the thermometer recording -1, we made perhaps the fastest selection of all, but still ended up with a beauty that Mom and Dad quickly carried to the truck, trusting the girls to bring up the rear with the saw.  Although a bit shorter and fatter than usual, once decked out with lights and ornaments, she made the house really feel like the holiday season had begun.

A Very Special Place

The girls were thrilled when we were finally able to squeeze a visit to the Children's Museum into our last Portland trip.  After being immediately captivated with the brushing of alligator teeth, the girls meandered and played their way through exhibit after exhibit.  A few of the highlights were captured below.

Happy Halloween

For the Weer girls, Halloween fun definitely did not stop at Trick or Treating!  From pumpkins to kid parties, birthdays to a special Halloween for Great Granny, the celebrations never seemed
to end, leaving us with one tuckered out owl and Indian Princess.

Excuses, Excuses

While this has been a CRAZY busy Fall, I know it is no excuse for the lack of blogs.  Although there has been a lot of work and chaos, there has also been a whole lot of fun.....I promise, documentation of fall family fun is on the way!

One Tough Cookie.....

This one is for the scrapbook.  Evidence of Camdyn's horrendous fall at Terminal Gravity while playing in the creek.  She was one tough cookie, and fortunately, nothing that a little Motrin can't take care of.

Forest Adventures

Camdyn and Lilly have been loving the last few weekends as we have the forest with their very best friends for wood cutting adventures!  While the dads cut and the moms lad, the kids have been building forts, hunting critters and roasting some super yummy s'mores!

Happy Belated 1st Day of School

We had some very special guests to help send Camdyn off to her very first day of school.  Gamma and Pop Pop took the ultimate cross-country road trip and arrived just in time for a Kindergarten delivery, and the morning was made complete when we met our bestest friend Jonah in the parking lot.  We all expected nothing less than these two best buddies tackling this major milestone hand in hand.  Mom and Dad are happy to report that Ms. Camdyn absolutely loves school and we are hoping this is a happy first of many years to come.

Only in Enterprise......

Do your children spend their Friday afternoons sitting on a gigantic Ox!!!!!

Soccer Stars

Mom and Dad couldn't be more thrilled that both girls are following in our footsteps and hitting the field this soccer season.  While Lilly is going for her 3rd round of Little Kickers, Camdyn has gone big time and is playing for the Wallowa Valley Youth Soccer Association.  We are looking forward to a fall of Saturday mornings, orange slices and hopefully some winning goals for the blog!

A Perfect Visit

While we love where we live, we know that our super remote location makes it a hard trip for most visitors.  So Camdyn and Lilly were extra excited when they found out that their Boise friends Sam and Eli were going to make a special stop in Enterprise on their way home from a NW road trip!  Although the visit was much too short, it was packed full of fun!  Golfing, minnow hunting and a special dinner at Terminal Gravity quickly filled the day.....and we are hoping they had so much fun they will make their way back here soon!

Best in Show

While Camdyn has always enjoyed watching her old cousin Ashley strut her stuff at the Wallowa County fair, she was thrilled that she was finally old enough to enter a few items of her own.  Carefully selecting some favorite sewing projects and a few special vegetables from her garden, she proudly dropped them off and hoped for the best!  On opening day, we nervously biked to the Exhibition Hall and were super excited to see two blues and a red donning our work!  In true Camdyn fashion, she is already busily planning her entries for next year.........

Our New Friends

Inspired by our friend Jonah and his creative Aunt Kim, the girls and mom gathered up some old boxes and tubes, headed to the hardware store for some spray paint and busted out the glue gun to create some robotic friends of our own!  Unfortunately, while they were super fun to put together, they have required more than a dozen "robot surgeries" in order to stay in playing shape.  However, mom made sure they were good for at least one photo shoot!

Date with Daddy

We were lucky to find a quick break between fires and steal daddy away for a day at the Water park!  While the girls always love quality time with dad, there is just something extra special about sprinklers, slides and splashing buckets.

A Long Awaited Stop

Although we pass Multnomah Falls every time we head to Portland, I am usually too close to the final destination to even think of stopping.  Instead I simply ignore begging, whining and complaining and keep on promising a stop the "next time."

Well, I was all out of excuses, and with two very hyper travelers was willing to burn a bit of energy!  Both girls LOVED the hike, falls and ice cream involved in our little adventure, and this mom is more than ready to pull over again sometime soon.

We Miss You Already!!!

From fireworks to giant fish, we had a great time showing Uncle Alan, Aunt Claire and Dawson some of our favorite places in Wallowa County.  A little bit of hiking, a lot of wet time, way too much eating and even a black bear sighting made a week full of memories!  Thanks for the visit California Weers, we miss you already!
