The Outlet Covers Are on the Way

For about a week we have been diligently trying to drag ourselves along, but in the last day or so we have made quite the progress. While it may not be too pretty and I am certain she isn't going to win any races just yet....for a five-month old I think we are cruising along quite nicely! Here goes Mommy's life as she once knew it.........let the crawling begin!!!

It's Never Too Early to Love Post-Its!!!

So, while we may take after dad in just about every way, shape and form as far as our looks are concerned...it is nice to see that we have adopted Mom's love for post-it notes! Not a pad of the sticky things are safe from Ms. Camdyn.....just hope a high fiber diet isn't too harmful! 8)

Ummm.....Who Said This Was a Good Idea?!?!?

I remember my excitement when my new part-time employer assured me that Camdyn was always welcome at work. However, as the reality of the situation unfolded, I realized it was going to be a bit more challenging, and much less idealistic, than I had imagined....but, we were definitely making it. Minus a few cranky teething days, up until about a week ago, it was pretty smooth sailing. Sure, I was giving up lunch for bottle feedings and continually apologizing for the odors wafting out of my office, but I felt like I was pretty much in control of being a simultaneous mom and employee.........until recently.

As our little girl is growing up, she is getting extremely curious about the world around her and is always eager to explore....with the army crawl nearly mastered, and grabbing items no longer a challenge, mommy's work world is being turned upside down! This afternoon I felt safe heading to the bathroom during Camdyn's little cat nap. I even treated myself to quick stop by my boss's office to let her know that as soon as the princess awoke, we would be heading out to distribute some fliers. I was just winding up my conversation when I heard the crinkle......looks like I will be making more fliers....and looking into day care!

Bronze, Blues and Brews

The Weers were spoiled this weekend with great weather, great friends and fun times! Our dear friends, the Johnsons, made the trek to Eastern Oregon to check out the new space and spend the day at Bronze, Blues and Brews an annual music, art and microbrew celebration just minutes from our house!

The weather was perfect and the kids were absolutely wonderful......just soaking up an afternoon and evening of sunshine and people watching! Thanks Joel, Beth and Addison for a great day!

How am I supposed to Work in all this Cuteness!?!?

I know, I know....I relished in all of the greens, yellows and browns we received before Camdyn was born, and swore up and down she would NEVER wear pink.....but seriously, despite the pink shirt on top of the pink blanket, is she just not the cutest thing!?!?! With a distraction like this on my office floor, it is a wonder I ever get anything done while I am at work! Augh....back to the job.......

Looking Like a Big Girl Already!!

Despite my greatest efforts, I can already tell I am going to be a sentimental schmuck when it comes to Camdyn. Even though we are only in month five, I am already struggling with how "old" we have become. I am not sure whether it was the move to the high chair, the ever shrinking bald spot, or the fact that Camdyn would now rather be playing than cuddling with her parents......whatever it is, this part of being a mom isn't much fun! 8) Here are a few shots of our baby enjoying her new "big girl" toys!

So Close to Sitting!!!!

I swear, if she would stop trying to get her feet in her mouth, we would officially be sitting on our own. Three times in the past week we have been up and balanced, but by the time Mom gets the camera and returns to the room, we are in a heap on the floor, just munching on our toes..............but don't worry, we never lose the smile on our face! Here is our latest attempt!

One Wild Weekend!

Although it stinks that Dad has to work every weekend, don't fool yourselves into thinking it slows little Miss Camdyn and I down! We had our most adventure-filled weekend ever, thanks to Uncle Ian, Aunt Heidi and Ashley.

After completing the usual weekend grind of grocery shopping, trips to the dump and attempting to rid every surface in our house of Barley hair, Camdyn and I headed up the Lostine River Canyon for an afternoon of fishing, sunbathing and huckleberry picking! Despite the fact that it turned out to be too overcast to sunbathe, not a single fish decided to bite, and all hopes of huckleberry cobbler were dashed by a dismal find of about 25 berries......we had a ball just being outdoors and with the family....but little did we know what fun Sunday would have in store!

After a mostly cloudy Saturday, we awoke to sunshine and heat on Sunday and decided that there may never be a better day for Camdyn's first boat trip out on Wallowa Lake! Despite an exhaustive search of every outdoor store and marina in the county (who am I kidding....THE outdoor store and THE marina), I was unable to find a life jacket that would actually fit Camdyn, but opted to go with the under 30 pound model that seemed to be readily available!

I am happy to report that our little water baby did great! She lasted a little over an hour before she decided that her massive life jacket was a bit too oppressive, that Mommy was holding onto her a bit too hard, and perhaps everyone on board was a bit too paranoid that Camdyn was going to end up over board! Maybe just a few more months before we are all ready to go boating again!
