We're BACK.......and Bigger Than Ever!!!

Not only are we back from a snow-filled two weeks in Enterprise, but Mommy's fantasy world has been shattered and she is now officially back in the classroom. However Camdyn fans there is no need to worry, for although my ever so enthralling and witty narratives may be a bit fewer and far between, I will try my best (between stacks of quizzes to grade, lessons to plan and a yearbook to organize) to update the site at least a few times a week! Hopefully, this is will prove often enough to keep our die hard bloggers happy, and provide me with a soap box from which to brag about how amazingly wonderful our daughter is and how incrediby big we are getting with each passing hour!
Speaking of bragging, I will openly admit, I have rolled my eyes more than once as I listened to a mother babble on and on about the latest cooing noise, the amazing head strength or a myriad of other amazing talents their newborn possessed. And while I could somewhat grasp the idea of a first smile being a milestone of sorts, I also could never quite understand the other seemingly phsyical victories...I mean honestly, what in the world could be so exciting about a baby discoverying their hands?!?!? However, I am a changed woman and I swear, when it's our kid, this developmental stuff gets better everyday!
So, what have you missed in my lack of blogging?!?!?! Well, not only are we now taller, heavier and more awake then ever, we now are smiling (quite the challenge to catch on camera), talking (in baby of course), staring at mobiles, toys, Barley, mirrors and just about anything that moves and yes...we have discovered our that those tiny little fingered things at the end of our arms really do belong to us! and while Ms. Camdyn Jane may have mastered the art of finding her mouth with those tiny little fists, we are currently still working dilligently at batting objects and grabbing anything we can muster enough hand-eye coordination to locate!
Below are simply a few of many pictures, but I knew I had to get something up before I ran out of excuses.....speaking of excuses, I worked all day and have a baby I must return to staring at....who knows what I may miss!

Welcome to Enterprise...Land of limited Technology!

Thus far, I have impressed even myself, and have been fairly up-to-date on our life with little Camdyn. However, as the fantasy life ends and dad heads back to work on Monday, we will be traveling as a family to Enterprise for the last 2 weeks of Mom's maternity leave.....not only do we have no access to fast food, stop lights and strip malls while we are in the county, I have very limited computer access as well. So, if there aren't any postings over the next several weeks, do not fear! I will be back on line soon with tons of pictures of the Weer Family Life!

My Aunties are the Bestest!

It seemed that Gamma and Pop Pop had barely left, when even more company was on its way into town to meet Baby Camdyn. This past weekend "Auntie" Azla, Little Jack and "Auntie" Sarah headed to Portland to check out the latest addition to our family of friends. Again, Camdyn received rave reviews and absolutely loved all the attention and adorable little girl outfits! She even slept well at night because she knew we had guests in the house.......either that, or she wants Mom's friends to start having more kids soon and didn't want to scare them off! 8)

Although we spent most the weekend holding, staring at and singing to little "Camdini," we did find time for a trip over to Rich and Kate's house to get the three little UPS Logger kids together for some photos! Thank you Aunties for such a great weekend!

My Big Sis RULES!!!!!

Alright, I will confess, the first photos of Barley and Camdyn that have received dozens of comments, may not have been quite as natural as they appear. In fact, for the most part they were actually pretty much staged. Although WE knew how much Barley really loves our newest little family member, Jeff and I were dying to show you all how cute they were together...not to mention eliminate any doubt that we really do have the coolest dog in the world. So, one night after bath time, we lined them up on the bed and took a couple photos! No harm no foul, right?!?! I am sure every parent wants to make their family look just about perfect.

However,no more faking it for the Weers....I was super excited when I actually caught Barley and Camdyn napping on their own! I was updating the blog and had set Camdyn on the guest room bed wide awake, pacifier in position. A few minutes later, I watched as Barley jumped up on the foot of the bed to assume her usual position scanning the action on the culdesac through the front window. Now, I will admit, I was kind of a bad mom and got all kinds of caught up in importing and editing the latest plethora of Camdyn pictures, so I hadn't looked at the kid or the dog for several minutes....yet, when I turned around, there they were napping together and both looking pretty darn content! I promise...this time its for real (and yes, we really do have the coolest dog)!!!!

I love my Gamma & Pop Pop!

It seemed like every other minute we waited I spent trying to reposition a sleeping Camdyn in her stroller so that she would look as cute as possible the first time they saw her! I stressed over her out-of-control hair and worried that she looked extra chubby with dried milk spotting her cheeks.......I don't know why I was so nervous for Jeff's Mom and Dad to walk down the tarmack, as he politely explained, "She could have her head on backwards and they would still think she was beautiful!" However, Camdyn and I were just so excited to finally meet Gamma and Pop Pop that we wanted everything to be just right...and, what a perfect visit it turned out to be!

After three days in Portland, we headed to Enterprise to check out where Dad works and look at the new place! Although it snowed everyday we were there, the sun shone for most of each day and they were able to see what a beautiful place Eastern Oregon is.... in fact, Gamma even stated she could live there herself! Both Gamma and Pop Pop quickly adjusted to Camdyn's busy days of napping, eating and taking long walks to throw Barley the frisbee....and Jeff and I were even lucky enough to get help on a couple of projects around our Portland house! Overall, it was an amazing trip and they have already started planning to be back to visit all of us soon...and we promise to take lots more pictures the next time around!

Go TARHEELS!!!!!!!

While most parents include first smile, first steps and first tooth in their newborn's scrapbook, we would like to officially document Camdyn's first March Madness! As Jeff likes to say, "All is right in the basketball world!" as the North Carolina Tarheels survive another round of the NCAA Tournament, and advance to the Final Four next weekend! Gamma and Pop Pop were in town to help us cheer on our team and every member of the Weer family is estatic that we have at least 1 more week of college basketball ahead!!!!

As you can tell from the pictures, even our newest member is already a hard core fan and while we had purchased a UNC hat and booties long before Camdyn arrived, we would like to thank Auntie Ashley (Mom's favorite student of all time) for the awesome Tarheels Onsie! It was wonderful to still look like a little lady while expressing her fanhood.....with not a single person mistaking her for a baby boy. And, being the superstitious bunch that we are, you can expect a repeat of the entire outfit next Saturday! GO TARHEELS!!!!!!!!!!

Our First Family Holiday

Although we may be a few years away from coloring eggs and getting out the Easter basket, Mom and Dad were excited to celebrate their first official holiday as a family! Since Grandma and Grandpa were out of town, Camdyn and crew were headed to Uncle Hans's house for an Easter brunch and some NCAA basketball....but only after we put on our very first dress (thank you Auntie Jill) and headed to Church!

After a strategy session in the parking lot, Mom and Dad decided that at the first sign of a meltdown we would politely exit the building, refusing to be that family that ruined the service for everyone....we are proud to say we made it approximately 25 minutes, and to about the first 3 words of the actual message, before Camdyn was ready to exercise those lungs! Needlesss to say, we tried and hope God understands our good intentions!

Here are a few photos from the day. We realized we haven't been doing so well on the family pictures, so thankfully Uncle Hans was willing to play photographer. We tried to get an awake picture in her Easter dress, but as soon as we left Church, she suddenly was ready for another nap....funny how that works. As you can see by her hands, our little drama queen was totally exhausted from her morning of being beautiful and is probably thankful that the next holiday is a few months away!
