With Daddy off fighting fires, Mom and the girls headed up to the
Cousins' camp site and joined them for several dozen "floats" down the
river. Since the water was less than a foot deep, and the current far
from raging, both girls were THRILLED that Mom let them hit the tubes
alone and ride the river solo.....and Mom enjoyed propping her feet up and soaking in the sun.

And Then There Was None.....................
After a long afternoon, this Mom requested a "Mommy Timeout." Enjoying my cup of coffee, I was amazed at the lack of screaming, whining and cries for help that usually dominate my supposed 15 minutes of quiet. Even more alarming, was the lack of response when told they could come out of the room. As my stomach filled with dread,I knew immediately we were in trouble. However, even I couldn't have imagined opening the door and being welcomed by this.
While I understand that over the years of parenting there are events much more traumatic than sibling beauticians, I cannot lie.......as I looked from the box to my smiling Lilly, I fell to my knees, let out a scream, and welcomed the river of tears that sprang to my eyes. For my favorite toddler with perhaps the greatest long blond locks ever, now looked like this.
After frantically visiting half the hair dressers in Enterprise, it was established that not much could be done, at least to the six places where the scalp was clearly visible...............and so we wait, and wait, and dry our eyes as the hair returns. However, in typically Lilly fashion, she is still smiling, loving her new style and somehow making near bald more beautiful than ever!

Welcome to Wallowa County
We couldn't have been more excited when cousin Dawson came to visit with Uncle Alan and Aunt Claire. From hiking, to laking, to parading, we had four days of fun in the sun......and tried to make the most of each minute with family in town. Thank you California Weers for making the 14+ hour drive........we can't wait to see you again!

Here Comes the Bride
While we are always up for an East Coast trip, double weddings were the driving force behind our recent adventure. "Uncle" Bill was nice enough to include both Weer Girls in on his Big Day, and they couldn't have been more thrilled with the honor of Flower Girls. Aside from a bit of crying, forgetting to through a single flower, and not making it down the aisle, their performance was a resounding success......and the whole family wishes Bill and Rebecca an amazing, happily ever after!

Happy Flag Day!
While I will update with pictures from our entire East Coast Adventure over the weekend, we thought this picture was pretty darn fitting as we celebrate a symbol of American History. Also fitting, was the trip to Urgent Care in the middle of our vacation for a sick and infected Lilly.......however, since her antibiotic injections did provide this stinking cute photo opp, it could have been worse!
