Welcome Back Warm Weather!

Despite the changes in toys and technology, I love how some activities transcend the test of time.  Does it get any better than running though a sprinkler on the first warm days of spring?!?!?  To our girls a bit of sunshine, daring each other to sit on the sprinkler head and the first Popsicle of the season made for just about the perfect weekend!

Let's Go Fly a Kite

While the girls and I were searching for a spring craft, we stumbled upon a simple kite pattern on-line.  Encouraged that the only materials needed were a plain sheet of paper and a skewer, we thought we would give it a try.......and are thrilled we did!   This simple 2 -minute kite not only puts our $40.00 beach kite to shame, but is also incredibly easy to fly.  Since its creation we have spent many a windy afternoons hitting the sky with our latest creation!

*Now, before I get comments about how close we are to power lines, it isn't as bad as it looks! 8)

Easter 2013

It was one wonderful Easter Holiday!  Not only the was sun shining and the weather unseasonably warm, but Camdyn and Lilly were fortunate enough to spend part of the weekend's celebrations in Portland, and make it home in time for church, egg decorating, fabulous food and hunting with the cousins!

The Early Bird gets the Worm

Perhaps the only thing more fun than fishing, is finding the worms!  While Lilly screamed each time a squiggly creature came near, Camdyn couldn't get enough of sifting through Daddy's dirt and trying to find the biggest night crawler of them all!

Spring Has Sprung!

While we are still battling frost on a near nightly basis, the Willamette Valley was in full bloom on our Spring Break visit!  The girls loved making flower "collections" at Grandma and Grandpas....and mom couldn't help turning the picking into a spring photo op!

A Spring Tradition

I have the best childhood memories of making "nests" each spring with my grandma and thought this year would be the perfect time to start the tradition in the Weer House!   This seasonal snack was definitely a hit and will be a part of our holiday for years to come.
