With Daddy STILL away on fires and Camdyn on her first solo trip to a
friends house, it was the perfect time for Momma and Lilly to have their
very first date. Lilly had a huge list of things she wanted to do
during our alone time, but making Rice Krispy Treats (with no taking
turns), rose to the top...and from the pictures it is clear to see,
Little Lilly loved her extra bit of TLC.

The First of Many........
I know how cliche "time flies" sounds, but as we headed out to our first day of Pre-K, I couldn't believe how true it really was! Although a bit apprehensive, Camdyn was super excited and easily parted from Mom and Dad the second we walked through the door. In fact, the only tears of the day (minus the few shed by mom), were when I arrived to pick her up! We are so thankful for her wonderful teacher and friends that made this first day of school such a positive memory!

A Campin' We Will Go........
While poor Daddy has missed out on most of our summer adventures, he was able to join us for an evening around the campfire and a night in the tent on our latest camping trip. From campfire cooking to teepee construction, Camdyn, Lilly, the dogs and cousins literally wore themselves out getting dirty, floating the river and just exploring the great outdoors.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Meteor.........
Dad had the fabulous idea of loading up the truck and heading to a higher elevation last weekend for the Meteor Shower. So come dusk, we hit the road, drove to the top of Snow Hollow Hill and sleeping bagged up in the bed of the pick-up to check out the gorgeous summer sky. Even though it was only Mom and Dad spotting dozens of meteors, while the girls mostly spotted the back of the eyelids, it was definitely a great Summer memory in the making.

An Amazing "Daycation!"
As summer is quickly coming to a close, I have been feeling the need to celebrate not only the sun, but the extra time with my girls. So any errand with the slightest possibility of adventure has turned into an opportunity to play. Heading to Washington for a Costco run over the weekend was no exception, and seemed like the perfect opportunity for a bike ride along the snake, a picnic lunch and a visit to the local water park! I can honestly say that the rewards far exceeded the efforts, and we literally had one of the greatest days of the summer tubing down the Lazy River, splashing in the fountains and getting nearly swallowed in the wave pool!

TeePee Time
On a firewood mission several weeks ago, Mom and the girls needed to find a safe place to hang while Daddy fell a tree or two. Unfortunately, the outing was going terribly wrong with 2 kids crying to go home........until Mom can up with the amazing idea of building a teepee! Although it didn't show, Camdyn and I worked diligently until all the wood was loaded, creating an architectural masterpiece that would have made the native Nez Pierce proud (perhaps a slight exaggeration...but it was good). While we were sad to leave our humble abode, we were thrilled to return on a recent huckleberry hunt to find our frame still standing....and this time we had little friends to enjoy in our labor!
