The County Fair

There is just something nostalgic about a small town county fair. From watching proud kids parade around their animals, to scouting out the biggest and weirdest produce in the county, there just seems to be a little something for everyone. While I am always surprised more people with little ones don't take advantage of the free festivities, the girls and I were thankful for a crowd-free, leisurely morning with our cousins. Lilly was smitten with just about every barnyard creature you can imagine, Camdyn was thrilled to join in on some old fashioned relays with the older kids, and Mom is already planning on entering some blue ribbon produce next year!

"e too, e too"

While showing the girls my latest post and talking about how proud I am of Camdyn for her writing skills, Lilly began shouting "e too, e too" and ran to the easel to demonstrate that she too is mastering the arts of literacy. So on behalf of my toddler, here is my apology and amendment to the previous post.

Mom

Although it is usually the picture that is worth a thousand words, today it was the word that was worth nearly a thousand pictures!

Little Explorers

While Lilly has been feeling a bit under the weather, nothing has been able to stop Camdyn and her cousin Malachi from squeezing every second of fun out of the summertime! There are few things I enjoy more than watching kids have good, old-fashioned fun with nothing but nature, their imaginations....and in this case a giant River Rat inner tube!

1.5

The blog is definitely long overdue on a little Lilly lovin, and 18 months seemed the perfect time to highlight our favorite little toddler. First some basic stats:

Height: 31.5 inches (15th percentile)
Weight: 20.5 pounds (5th percentile)
Head: 18.5 inches (20th percentile)
Loves: Barley, Camdyn, water, any type of food, tricycle rides, snuggling with Dad, doing anything outside, tackling her sister, reading stories, strawberry milkshakes, splashing in the tub, her Minnie Mouse and Dog stuffed animals and kisses on her belly.
Not so fond of: Going to the Doctor, getting her medicine, keeping her hands to herself and hot dogs (the only food she refuses to eat)

Much more verbal than her Camdyn was, her incessant chatter has turned into a pretty hefty vocabulary with well over 30 words....including some strange ones like pickle, spicy and weeding (sadly, one of her favorite activities)!

Best known by her sister as Lil or Lilla, the entire Weer Clan is pretty smitten with Miss Lilly Grace and we are so happy she came around 18 months ago to round out our family of four!

Summer Lovin'

Seems we have been doing just about everything this summer besides blogging! While poor Daddy has been fighting fires across the Southwest, the Weer Women have been soaking up the sun. From the backyard to Wallowa Lake, pools, playing, Popsicles and all things inflatable have been dominating our days and we couldn't be loving it more!
